Botox - Upper Face

From £240

Cosmetically, Botox is used to inhibit muscle activity, particularly the downward pulling facial muscles, to achieve a lift. The results are a softer, happier and fresher look.

If you imagine the skin as a piece of paper, the more you fold it, the more wrinkled it will become. By resting the muscles that are responsible for wrinkling the skin, the muscles of the frown for example, the lines appear smoother with further furrows and wrinkles restricted.

Botox is not “all or nothing” as people may imagine. It can be used expertly to soften harsh, etched lines without a surprised or frozen look, toning down the negative appearance of anxious or angry looking brow. It’s all about balance and blending, softening the harsh and the negative expressions of emotion, and maintaining the soft and positive features of the face.

In the upper face Botox is used to release the frown, soften the forehead and eyes and rest any compensatory muscles, such as the “bunny lines”.

Results can take up to 14 days to be in full effect with a repeat treatment required around three months. Subsequent treatments may result in a cumulative effect, enabling longer intervals between treatments.

I work entirely collaboratively, and conservatively in the first instance, with a complementary review after the 14-day “kicking-in” period if desired. If you’re looking for an experienced Botox injector in London, I’ll help you achieve your desired look.

The Process

1. Assessment

You will be asked to engage the relevant muscles, frowning down, elevating your brow and scrunching up your eyes so that the best points of injection may be identified. The idea is to soften the strongest portions of muscle contraction, whilst maintaining lift and natural movement. The extent to which you would like to maintain movement will of course be discussed prior to treatment, with dilution and amounts calculated.

2.Botox Injection

The skin is cleansed and sterilised and then injections are carried out using micro needles. Whilst it will feel as if there are multiple injections, the idea is to use minimal amounts across the entire area for an overall blend and more natural appearance. The needles are changed very regularly to ensure optimum comfort levels are maintained.

Frequently asked questions

  • Full effects are visible at:

    • 14 days for upper and lower face Botox.

    • 6 weeks for facial slimming.

  • Botox may initially reduce muscle activity, causing a “frozen” feeling. This usually softens over time, giving a more natural effect.

  • Avoid facials, massages, or facial treatments for 2 weeks after Botox to prevent the risk of the product moving to non-target muscles.

  • Botox can cause some muscles to relax at different rates, especially in the forehead. This can lead to certain areas being more active than others initially, but this will settle down.
